ESHEL JERUSALEM Eshel Jerusalem offers comfort, warm meals and direct aid to hundreds of lonesome, elderly men and women throughout the year, including Shabbat and Holidays. Our legendary Soup Kitchen is the fulfillment of Isaiah's demand to establish a home serving food to the hungry. Indigent elderly and destitute are welcomed at Eshel Jerusalem where they meet friends, socialize and enjoy a nutritious, hot meal prepared and served by our staff. For many, Eshel is their home away from home. For those who cannot come to our Dining Hall - because of illness or age - Eshel Jerusalem's Meals on Wheels program delivers hot, satisfying meals to their homes on a daily basis. ESHEL JERUSALEM holds daily lessons in Mishnayot on behalf of those in need of blessing and/speedy recovery as well as for the souls of the departed. Mishnayot are studied by a Minyan of Torah scholars and G-d fearing Jews who recite the tehillim (Psalms of David) at the Tomb of King David on Mount Zion in Jerusalem.    AMONG OUR ACTIVITIES: Courses in art appreciation and Jewish studies for senior citizens. These classes help give meaning to the lives of the elderly and lonely. Home visitations and individualized care to the infirm and bedridden of Jerusalem - giving warmth and companionship to those who need it most Annual communal Passover Seders for new immigrants and those who live alone.
